Addio all'avvocato Guido Benedini, gentiluomo della politica e della cultura mantovane

MANTOVA – Il mondo forense e della cultura mantovani piangono la scomparsa dell’avvocato Guido Benedini, protagonista per decenni della storia della città, quella insieme più autentica e garbata, oggi sempre più rara, attenta alle dinamiche di ciò che accadeva a cui riservava giudizi puntuali ed equilibrati, sempre rispettosi di chi non la pensava allo stesso modo.
Benedini se ne è andato a 86 anni vittima del Covid.
Il suo amore per Mantova lo portò nel 2000 a candidarsi a sindaco. Arrivò al ballottaggio e rimase poi in Consiglio per pochi mesi, preso si dagli impegni professionali e dall’impegno di sostenere il figlio Francesco nelle fasi iniziali della sua attività legale, ma anche deluso da quella politica che assumeva ogni giorno di più toni e modi di fare così lontani dai suoi.
Oltre che all’impegno professionale dedicò allora molte energie al mondo della cultura. Fu presidente del Conservatorio Campiani e dell’assemblea dei palchettisti del Teatro Sociale dando il via alla sistemazione del Massimo cittadino e riuscendo a riportare i conti in equilibrio.
Fu anche presidente dell’Ugr di Eremo di Curtatone, l’Unità geriatrica riabilitativa oggi presieduta dal figlio Francesco, struttura voluta in particolare da Bruna Bianchi, sorella di Edgardo, suocero di Guido.
Già perché la vita di Guido è stata anche contrassegnata dal grande amore per la moglie Maria Luisa Bianchi, unica figlia femmina dell’allora patron della Lubiam. Si conobbero da ragazzi: lui giovane studente di giurisprudenza a Ferrara, nativo di Governolo, e proveniente da una famiglia che fece molti sacrifici per poterlo far studiare e lei che proveniva da una delle famiglie più in vista della città e dell’imprenditoria italiana.
Il loro fu amore a prima vista seguito poi da un matrimonio lungo e solido il loro da cui, oltre a Francesco sono nati Andrea, Silvia e Laura.
I funerali di Guido Benedini si terranno domani alle 9,30 nella chiesa di San Barnaba partendo dalla Casa funeraria di Mantova in via della Costituzione a Levata.
