MANTOVA – A Ferzan Ozpetek, autore che può vantare la non comune capacità di coniugare una costante qualità di scrittura, messa in scena, direzione degli attori e un indiscusso successo di pubblico, il premio Fice. Un riconoscimento che testimonia un successo già certificato dai numerosi premi che il pubblico delle sale d’essai e i lettori di Vivilcinema, il bimestrale edito dalla FICE, gli hanno tributato nel corso degli anni.
Una premiazione che arriverà nei giorni del Cinema d’Essai, la cui XX edizione si svolgerà a Mantova dal 5 all’8 ottobre e che vedrà uno dei suoi momenti clou al Teatro
Bibiena mercoledì 7 ottobre, in una serata condotta dal giornalista Maurizio Di Rienzo (quest’anno disponibile anche in streaming).
Ferzan Ozpetek, nato a Istanbul, vive in Italia dai tempi dell’università. Alla sua attività di regista cinematografico, iniziata nel 1997 con “Il bagno turco” e proseguita con 13 regie fino a “La dea fortuna” (distribuito in molti mercati internazionali tra cui USA, Australia, Spagna, Francia), ha affiancato negli anni un’attività letteraria altrettanto fruttuosa, con la pubblicazione di tre romanzi di grande successo: “Rosso Istanbul”, poi diventato un film da lui diretto; “Sei la mia vita” e “Come un respiro”. Quest’ultimo, pubblicato lo scorso maggio, rimane tuttora nelle vette della classifica italiana collocandosi tra i maggiori successi editoriali dell’anno.
Ozpetek è inoltre regista di spettacoli teatrali e di opere liriche. Ha vinto, tra i numerosi altri riconoscimenti, il David di Donatello nel 2003 per “La finestra di fronte” (premiato anche con il David Scuola), 5 Nastri d’Argento per “Le fate ignoranti”, “La finestra di fronte”, “Saturno contro”, “Mine vaganti” e “Magnifica presenza”, 2 Ciak d’Oro per la regia di “Saturno contro” e “Magnifica presenza”. Quest’anno ha ottenuto il Premio SIAE consegnatogli alla Mostra d’Arte Cinematografica di Venezia.
