Emanuele Macaluso, storico dirigente del Pci, è morto all’età di 96 anni. Già iscritto al Partito Comunista d’Italia prima della caduta del Regime fascista, fu dirigente sindacale della Cgil. Iniziò la sua carriera politica nel 1951 come deputato regionale siciliano del Partito Comunista Italiano. Parlamentare nazionale per sette legislature (1963-1992), fu anche direttore de l’Unità dal 1982 al 1986 e ultimo direttore de Il Riformista dal 2011 al 2012. Quando il Pci si sciolse, aderì al Pds. Concluse la sua esperienza parlamentare nel 1992.
