“Esattamente come ho sempre reputato le leggi razziali del 1938 – aggiunge con forza – il punto più basso della storia italiana, una vergogna che segnerà il nostro popolo per sempre”. Così Giorgia Meloni, in un passaggio del suo intervento in Aula, alla Camera.
“I totalitarismi del ‘900 – sottolinea Meloni – hanno dilaniato l’intera Europa, non solo l’Italia, per più di mezzo secolo, in una successione di orrori che ha investito gran parte degli Stati europei. E l’orrore e i crimini, da chiunque vengano compiuti, non meritano giustificazioni di sorta, e non si compensano con altri orrori e altri crimini. Nell’abisso non si pareggiano mai i conti, si precipita e basta”.
“La comunità politica da cui provengo – ha rivendicato la presidente del Consiglio – ha compiuto sempre passi in avanti verso una piena e consapevole storicizzazione del Novecento, ha assunto importanti responsabilità di governo giurando sulla Costituzione repubblicana, come abbiamo avuto l’onore di fare ancora poche ore fa. Ha affermato e incarnato senza alcuna ambiguità i valori della democrazia liberale, che sono alla base dell’identità comune del centrodestra italiano. E da cui – ha concluso – non defletteremo di un solo centimetro: combatteremo qualsiasi forma di razzismo, antisemitismo, violenza politica, discriminazione”.
